Mel usually works at The Studio on most days, but if you're planning to visit specifically to see her, it's a good idea to confirm first! You can find her Studio in the retail section near Pomme and Life.Work.

Based on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, Mel draws inspiration from her coastal surroundings and the meditative rhythms of nature. Working primarily in graphite and watercolour, she's captivated by the tactile quality of pencil on paper and the gentle transparency of watercolour washes.

Her art explores botanical subjects and more recently studies of women; celebrating both the delicate intricacies of nature and the vulnerable strength of feminine spirit. Coming from a background as a professional photographer (trained in the traditional darkroom days) and interior designer, she brings a unique understanding of light, composition and how art creates connection within everyday spaces.

This scenic route through creative disciplines has led her back to what feels most personal: creating art that honours wellbeing and authentic self-expression. Her work reflects a belief that beauty and purpose can coexist and that art should speak to the heart as much as the eye.

Each piece invites quiet moments of reflection, carrying the same meditative quality she finds in the creative process itself - an invitation to pause, breathe and connect with beauty in its many forms.
